Finding Icons Online

Iconomizer allows you to search for and import icons from Iconify, a massive open source icon database with over 200,000 icons from 150+ icon sets.

Searching for Icons

To search for icons online:

  1. Right-click on an icon set in the Icon Set List
  2. Select Find Icons Online...

You can also press ⌘ (Command) F while an icon set is selected to open the search window.

A search window will appear where you can type keywords to find icons.

Using the Search Window

  1. Type a search term (e.g., "home", "arrow", "user") in the search field
  2. Wait briefly while Iconomizer searches the Iconify database
  3. Browse the results - icons are sorted with shorter names first for easier discovery
  4. Click icons to select them (click again to deselect)
  5. Hold Shift or drag to select multiple icons
  6. Click Import to add the selected icons to your icon set

The status bar shows how many icons are currently selected.

Tips for Better Search Results

  • Use specific terms: Searching "arrow right" will give more focused results than just "arrow"
  • Try synonyms: If "settings" doesn't find what you want, try "gear" or "cog"
  • Browse by category: Terms like "social", "weather", or "file" can help you explore icon categories
  • Check different styles: Many icons exist in outline, filled, and rounded variants
